Article imageThe redfish lives in large shoals on hard bottoms on deeps between 80- 1000 metres. The food contains of small fish and shrimps. It can reach a weight of over 20 kg and a length of one metre. The redfish bites on the most kind of lures. But fishing with natural bait is normally the best method. Use a long paternoster rig with 3-5 hooks around size 5/0. If you choose circle hooks it should be around 8/0. Tie the rig with 1mm monofilament. The best baits are shrimps and small pieces of fish. Try along drop offs from 100 metres and deeper. The redfish is often standing in high shoals that rise from the bottom.
