Article imageThe most characteristic for the dab is the bend of the lateral line around the breast fin. A light sandy bottom gives the dab a light brown/yellow colour, bottoms with dark stones gives the dab darker colours. The dab likes it best on deep from 5-50 metres, but can be found down to several hundred metres deep. It prefers sandy bottoms. The dab mainly feeds on small fish, shrimps and mussels. It can be up to around 50 cm and 1,5 kilo. If you want to fish for dab you should use a tackle with a running boom, 30-100g lead and hooks around size 1. Use shrimps, sand worms or small fillets of fish as bait.
